Wet Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch of salt
Instructions
- Mash Bananas: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth and creamy, ensuring no large lumps remain for a uniform texture.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well to fully incorporate all the wet ingredients.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir carefully until all ingredients are well combined without overmixing.
- Prepare to Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into a greased baking dish or loaf pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake: Bake the banana bread in the oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread light and moist.
- You can add nuts or chocolate chips if desired, folding them into the batter before baking.
- Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Check doneness by using a toothpick inserted in the center – it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
