Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Mixtures
- 14 oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
Toppings
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
- Red food coloring (optional for extra swirl effect)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing the paper to overhang the edges so you can easily lift the fudge out later.
- Melt Chocolate: In two separate bowls, melt the white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Use the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, or melt gently using a double boiler on the stovetop until smooth.
- Mix Ingredients: Stir half of the sweetened condensed milk into each of the melted chocolate bowls until you get a smooth, creamy mixture.
- Add Peppermint: Incorporate the peppermint extract into the white chocolate mixture and mix thoroughly to infuse the flavor.
- Create Layers: Pour half of the semi-sweet chocolate mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Then pour half of the white chocolate mixture on top. Repeat these layers with the remaining chocolate mixtures. Using a knife, gently swirl the layers together to create a marbled effect.
- Add Peppermint Candies: Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the top of the fudge. For a vibrant visual effect, optionally add a few drops of red food coloring and gently swirl with a toothpick to enhance the peppermint swirl.
- Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours or until the fudge is completely firm and set.
- Serve: Use the overhanging parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut the fudge into squares and serve.
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor and texture.
- If you prefer a stronger peppermint flavor, you can increase the peppermint extract to 1 1/2 teaspoons.
- The red food coloring is optional but adds a festive touch for holidays.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Allow the fudge to come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving for a softer bite.
