Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Parmesan crusted chicken recipe served with a rich and creamy garlic sauce. This comforting dish features tender chicken breasts coated in a crispy Parmesan and panko breadcrumb crust, sautéed to golden perfection, and finished in a creamy garlic-infused sauce with Italian herbs.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 4 small–medium chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs

Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup light or heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning or oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet: Heat a skillet over medium heat to prepare for cooking the chicken evenly and to achieve a crispy crust.
  2. Season the chicken: Lightly season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
  3. Prepare the coating: In a bowl, combine grated Parmesan cheese and panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast thoroughly in the mixture to ensure a flavorful crust.
  4. Cook the chicken: Add olive oil to the hot skillet. Place the coated chicken breasts into the skillet and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Make the garlic sauce: In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Pour in the cream and add Italian seasoning or oregano. Stir well to combine and heat the sauce gently.
  6. Simmer the chicken in sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet with the creamy garlic sauce. Let them simmer together for 2 to 3 minutes so the chicken can soak up the flavors of the sauce.

Notes

  • You can use either light or heavy cream depending on your preference for richness in the sauce.
  • For extra crispiness, broil the coated chicken for 1-2 minutes after pan frying but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or over pasta to complete the meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
