  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Salt

Description

This Crockpot Angel Chicken recipe combines tender, slow-cooked chicken breasts with a creamy, flavorful sauce made from cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and Italian dressing mix. Served over delicate angel hair pasta, it’s an easy, comforting meal perfect for busy days and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken & Sauce

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped or whole
  • 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup (undiluted)
  • ¾ cup chicken stock
  • 4 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 0.6 oz packet dry Italian dressing mix (like Good Seasons)

For Serving

  • 1 pound angel hair pasta, cooked and drained right before serving

Optional Add-Ins

  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Sun-dried tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crockpot: Spray your crockpot with nonstick spray or line it for easy cleanup.
  2. Add Chicken and Garlic: Place the chicken breasts and garlic cloves into the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Mix Creamy Sauce: Microwave the cream cheese and butter in short bursts until soft, then whisk together until smooth.
  4. Add Soup and Stock: Stir in the cream of chicken soup, whisking to combine the mixture evenly.
  5. Season Sauce: Mix in the dry Italian dressing mix and chicken stock until the sauce is well blended.
  6. Combine Sauce and Chicken: Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  7. Cook Low and Slow: Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  8. Shred the Chicken: About 30 minutes before the cooking time ends, shred the chicken with two forks if you prefer a thicker, saucier texture, then let it finish cooking.
  9. Prepare Pasta: Cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions, then drain well.
  10. Serve: Spoon the creamy shredded chicken mixture over the cooked angel hair pasta and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sliced mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes to the crockpot before cooking.
  • If you don’t have angel hair pasta, white rice, egg noodles, or crusty bread make excellent alternatives.
  • Using softened cream cheese and butter helps create a smooth sauce without lumps.
  • Shredding the chicken makes the dish saucier and helps the flavors meld better.
  • Nonstick spray or a crockpot liner reduces cleanup time significantly.
