Description

Cheesy Seafood Tortilla Bombs are a decadent and flavorful appetizer featuring a creamy mixture of shrimp, crab, and cheeses wrapped in warm flour tortillas. Baked in a rich garlic cream sauce until bubbly and golden, these bombs are perfect for seafood lovers seeking a comforting and impressive dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Seafood Filling

  • 6 medium flour tortillas
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Garlic Cream Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Seafood Filling: In a large bowl, combine chopped cooked shrimp, lump crab meat, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until evenly combined into a creamy seafood filling.
  2. Assemble the Tortilla Bombs: Lay each flour tortilla flat and evenly spread the seafood filling over the surface. Roll the tortillas tightly to encase the filling and place each seam-side down in a greased baking dish to prevent unrolling during baking.
  3. Make the Garlic Cream Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté additional minced garlic until fragrant but not browned. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer gently, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens to a creamy consistency.
  4. Bake the Tortilla Bombs: Pour the prepared garlic cream sauce evenly over the rolled tortillas in the baking dish. Place the dish in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and the tops turn golden brown.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot as an irresistible seafood appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • Use fresh seafood for best flavor, or thawed cooked seafood if using frozen.
  • Do not overbake to keep the filling creamy.
  • Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored covered in refrigerator for up to 2 days.
