Cheese Garlic Muffins Recipe

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 muffins 1x

Description

These Cheese Garlic Muffins are soft, cheesy, and bursting with rich garlic flavor. Made with refrigerated biscuit dough mixed with mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses, then coated in a flavorful garlic butter, these muffins bake to a golden perfection and make a savory snack or side that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Muffin Base

  • 2 cans (16 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits per can)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin thoroughly to prevent sticking. Quarter each biscuit from the two cans of refrigerated biscuit dough so that you have 32 pieces.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter with minced garlic, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to infuse the butter with garlic and herbs.
  3. Toss Dough and Cheese: Place the quartered biscuit dough pieces in a large mixing bowl. Add shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and grated Parmesan cheeses. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the dough and cheese, tossing everything well to ensure every piece is coated evenly.
  4. Fill Muffin Cups: Divide the garlic butter coated dough and cheese mixture evenly among the greased muffin cups, pressing gently to fill the cups. Sprinkle some extra cheese on top of each muffin cup for a golden cheesy crust when baked.
  5. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the muffins turn golden brown and are cooked through. Keep an eye on them towards the end to avoid overbaking.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove muffins from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving to add a fresh herbal note and vibrant color.

Notes

  • Make sure the biscuit dough is fully coated in the garlic butter to maximize flavor in every bite.
  • Red pepper flakes are optional; omit if you prefer a milder taste.
  • You can substitute the cheeses with your favorites, but mozzarella and Parmesan blend perfectly for melty, savory texture.
  • These muffins are best enjoyed warm, fresh out of the oven.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven or toaster oven to maintain crispness.
