Cake:
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix

- 1 stick butter
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and spray non-stick cooking spray on a 13 x 9 inch cake pan. This ensures the cake doesn’t stick to the pan.
- Mix cake according to directions. Follow the instructions on the cake mix box.
- Pour half of batter into greased pan and bake for 15 minutes. This forms the first layer of the cake.
- While baking, melt caramels, butter, and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan stirring constantly. Create a smooth caramel mixture.
- Pour melted caramel mixture over the baked portion of the cake. Ensure it covers the surface evenly.

- Pour the remaining cake batter evenly over the pan and bake for about 20 more minutes until the cake is set. This creates a layered effect in the cake.
