- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup reduced apple cider
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup caramel sauce
- Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Reduce the Apple Cider – Pour 1 cup of apple cider into a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until it reduces to ¼ cup. Let it cool.
- Step 2: Make the Whoopie Pies – Preheat oven. Prepare dry ingredients. Cream butter and sugar, add egg, vanilla, and apple cider. Mix in dry ingredients and milk. Drop batter on baking sheets and bake.
- Step 3: Prepare the Buttercream – Beat softened butter, add powdered sugar, apple cider reduction, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy.
- Step 4: Assemble the Whoopie Pies – Pair cake halves, add buttercream, caramel sauce, sea salt, and sandwich halves together.
